Davide Ghinolfi (Italy)

Davide Ghinolfi was born in Chiavari (Italy) in 1975. He attended the School of Medicine and Residency in General Surgery at the University of Genoa (Italy), where he got his PhD in Management of Organ Transplantation. He spent one year at the University of Massachusetts (2005) as a research fellow and two years at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City (NY, USA) as a hepatobiliary and multiorgan transplant fellow (2007-2009). Since 2009 he is an attending surgeon at the division of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation at the University of Pisa Medical School Hospital, one of the largest liver transplant programs in Europe. His research interests are focused on the use of marginal grafts in liver transplantation (in particular older donors and DCD liver grafts), on ex-situ perfusion and organ therapeutics. He is an expert in quality assessment and improvement programs in healthcare.
